Travel through scenic mountains and valleys, explore the Sahara Desert with a camel trek and overnight camp in Merzouga, meet local nomads, and cross the Atlas Mountains on your way to Marrakech for an unforgettable adventure.

Day 1: Fes to Merzouga via Ifrane, Midelt, Ziz Valley, and Merzouga
After breakfast, we will pick you up and continue your journey across Morocco as the landscape gradually shifts from fertile plains to the dramatic desert scenery the country is famous for. Travel toward the remote desert town of Merzouga, passing through Ifrane, where you will stop near the iconic lion statue and enjoy the city’s clean streets and landscaped gardens. The route continues through vast cedar forests, offering a chance to see Barbary apes in their natural habitat. Cross the Tizi n Talghamt Pass and the Ziz Gorge, enjoying sweeping views of the surrounding plateaus as the environment slowly becomes more arid near Errachidia. Stop here for lunch and experience the warm hospitality of the local Berber community. In the afternoon, follow the lush Ziz Valley, with several panoramic stops overlooking palm-filled oases on the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon, where your Sahara adventure begins. Mount your camel and ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, watching the sunset from the heart of the desert. Upon arrival at the camp, enjoy traditional mint tea, a Moroccan dinner, and live music performed by your guides. Relax and spend a peaceful evening under the stars in the quiet beauty of the Sahara.
Day 2: Merzouga Sahara Experience
Begin the day by watching the sunrise over the dunes and enjoying breakfast at the desert camp. Afterward, set off on a guided excursion to discover the unique surroundings of Merzouga and the Sahara. Visit Khamlia village, home to a rich cultural heritage, where local musicians perform traditional Gnawa music with rhythmic drumming and soulful chants. Continue your exploration with an off road drive around the impressive Erg Chebbi dunes, traveling through quiet desert hamlets, former mining areas, and remote landscapes. Stop to visit a nomadic Berber family, where you will be welcomed with mint tea and gain insight into their traditional desert lifestyle. Return to Merzouga for lunch, with the opportunity to sample the well known Berber pizza, prepared in a traditional oven. In the afternoon, you may choose optional desert activities such as ATV or buggy riding across the dunes. Later, return to the camp to relax and enjoy the desert surroundings. Walk along the dunes, watch the sunset, or try sandboarding before the evening sets in. End the day with a traditional dinner, live music, and a peaceful night under the star filled Sahara sky.
Day 3: Dades valley to Merzouga via Todgha Gorges and Erfoud
After breakfast, continue the 3-day desert tour Marrakech to Fes Via Merzouga toward the eastern desert region. Stop in Tinghir, where a lush palm oasis contrasts beautifully with the surrounding mountains. Explore traditional kasbahs and historic sites before heading to the spectacular Todgha Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise dramatically above the river. Travel deeper into the desert, passing Berber villages until reaching Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and date festival. Enjoy lunch here and visit a local fossil shop to see ancient marine discoveries from the region. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, located on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. Take time to relax and explore the dunes before embarking on a camel trek across the golden sands. Ride into the heart of the desert to reach your camp, enjoying a magical sunset along the way. Spend the night in a desert camp with traditional music, dinner, mint tea, and optional sandboarding under the stars.
Day 4: Dades Gorges to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and High Atlas
After breakfast, depart from Dades and continue through the Valley of the Roses and Skoura Oasis, known for their palm groves and historic kasbahs. Drive onward to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert, with time to explore the area. Visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic filming location for many international movies. Enjoy free time to explore the ancient village and take in panoramic views.
